Is Michelle Obama responsible for ABC canceling All My Children/OLTL in favor of Food nutrition talk shows?
ABC has canceled two of its longest-running programs, daytime soap operas “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.” The network announced Thursday that the two soap operas would end, with “All My Children” going off the air in September and “One Life to Live” going off the air in January.
In their place, a Mario Batali-hosted food show called “The Chew” will premiere in September, and a health/lifestyle transformation show tentatively called “The Revolution” will premiere in January.
“As food has become the center of everyone’s life, The Chew will focus on food from EVERY angle — as a source of joy, health, family ritual, friendship, breaking news, dating, fitness, weight loss, travel adventures and life’s moments,” according to ABC.
This is not the daytime soap America I grew up in!! Is this a dumb idea for ABC Daytime or what?!!
We already have food channels and health channels
